Scheduling

Intake Appointment

Early Childhood Services

The initial therapy intake appointment is 50-55 minutes. After scheduling the intake, I will send you forms to fill out prior to our first meeting. During this appointment and the following two or three sessions, I will learn more about the reasons you are seeking support, gather relevant background information, hear about your goals and hopes for therapy, and possibly ask you to complete some brief assessments. I typically meet with parents/caregivers first and then have the child present for the second session, but that can vary depending on the age of the child and the presenting concerns.

At the end of the initial evaluation period, we will meet to discuss the most supportive and effective treatment approach for you and your child. From there, we will collaborate on treatment goals and a treatment schedule that best fits your needs. Therapy involves a commitment of time, financial resources, and energy, so it is important that you feel that I am a good fit for you and your child.

In the initial few sessions, I will spend time understanding what is bringing you to this work and listening for central themes beginning to emerge. You will have a chance to ask me questions about the specific therapeutic approach and anything else you would like to know about therapy. Therapy involves a commitment of time, financial resources, and energy so I encourage you to take the first several sessions to decide if I am the right therapist for you, and if this therapeutic approach feels like a good fit.

Therapy Sessions

Sessions are generally 50-55 minutes in length.  While we will collaborate on a treatment schedule during the intake process, appointments typically occur on a weekly basis. For adults wishing to engage in deeper work with psychanalytic psychotherapy, sessions may occur twice weekly. We will discuss this together during the intake and as the work progresses.

Fees

Therapy sessions are 180$ for a 50-55 minute session. Payment is due at the time that services are provided. I reserve the right to evaluate and raise fees each year as needed.

I am an out-of-network provider and do not maintain contracts with any insurance companies. For clients who wish to use their out-of-network insurance benefits, I provide monthly documentation in the form of superbills to turn in to your insurance company. Many health-plans offer out-of-network mental health benefits. However, it is important to note that many insurance companies reimburse at a lower rate and vary widely in their reimbursement practices. Additionally, in order to be reimbursed, you may need to provide certain clinical information to your insurance company, such as a diagnosis.

I encourage you to contact your insurance company prior to initiating services to discuss coverage for psychotherapy. When speaking to your insurance company, you may want to ask:

-What are my outpatient mental health/behavioral health benefits?

-How much does my plan reimburse for an out-of-network provider?

- How many therapy sessions are covered per calendar year?

-What is my deductible? After I meet my deductible, what percentage of the behavioral health visits will be covered?

Cancellation Policy

I require a 24-hour cancellation notice. Sessions canceled within 24 hours are subject to a cancelation fee of the hourly rate.
