Early Childhood Mental Health

Welcome!

If you are a parent or caregiver of a young child (0-6 years old) and are
seeking support, you have come to the right place. I have extensive training in Early Childhood/Infant Mental Health and I feel passionate about supporting young children and their families. My approach is based in attachment theory and a deep respect for the bond between you and your child. I also provides therapeutic support during pregnancy and postpartum.
Specific areas of intervention may include:
-
Trauma in young children (0-6)
-
Attachment difficulties, including in foster care or adoption settings
-
Anxiety in young children
-
ADHD symptoms in young children
-
Temper tantrums/difficulty listening/general behavior difficulties
-
Difficulty feeling a connection to your baby during pregnancy or postpartum
-
Supporting young children in navigating Separation/Divorce and Co-parenting support
There are no one-size-fits-all approaches to parenting. Together, we will come up with the right intervention for you and your child. This includes an extensive assessment phase, where I will gather the necessary information to understand what you and your child need at this time. I will then meet with you for feedback, where a treatment plan and next steps will be discussed.
Of note, it is best practice for children under the age of 6 to have their parents or caregivers involved in the assessment and treatment. This is because the relationship between yourself and your child is the vehicle through which all growth and healing occur. I am trained in several evidence-based interventions (listed in more detail below), which all include parents and/or caregivers as essential participants.
It is an honor to walk along side you in your journey with your child. I believe that healthy parent-child relationships are the foundation for well-being throughout the lifespan, and that every child and family has the ability to thrive. I look forward to supporting you!
